Nurse Video Submissions

SONSIEL MEMBERS ONLY

The Outcomes Rocket podcast features the most inspiring leaders in healthcare to share best practices and stories to help leaders improve healthcare outcomes and business success.

In May 2021, The Outcomes Rocket podcast will produce a special 12-part series on Nursing Innovation highlighting SONSIEL members which will run over Nurses Week.

SONSIEL is asking for submissions from its members to participate in this podcast series. If you are interested in applying submit a 60-second video of yourself, telling us:

  • Your Name
  • Role in (Nursing) health and/or healthcare
  • Why you joined SONSIEL
  • How SONSIEL has impacted you

To create the video, you may use a platform such as Snapchat, Instagram, or TikTok. Using these platforms may enable you to add on a SONSIEL-specific filter (see instructions below). However, you are not required to solely use social media applications to create the video and may use Loom, iMovie, or a regular video recording application as well.

Videos must be submitted to us no later than March 15, 2021. Winners will be selected by SONSIEL board members.

Have fun with it – but please remember to keep it professional!

A STEP-BY-STEP TIP SHEET ON HOW TO CREATE A 60-SECOND VIDEO USING SOCIAL MEDIA

IF YOU ARE USING SNAPCHAT:

  1. Sign in to your Snapchat account, by clicking the icon on your screen.
  2. Ensure that the camera is facing you (it is facing you if you can see yourself staring back on your phone screen).
  3. If it is not, you may either click the icon, found on the top right-hand corner of the screen or simply double tap on the screen.
  4. To record a video, press and hold down on the large circle found in the middle of two other icons, on the bottom of your screen. You will know it is recording, once the white border starts turning red while moving in a clockwise direction.
  5. Each “cycle” that is being recorded lasts about 10 seconds. Press and keep holding for 6 complete cycles (or when Snapchat no longer lets you record further; it will not record past 60 seconds). Do not go past 60 seconds.
  6. You may add a filter if you wish if it does not contain any wording. To add a filter to your video, simply swipe left on the main screen.
  7. To save your video, press the icon in the middle with the arrow pointing downwards, located on the bottom left corner of your screen.
  8. Then, simply exit the Snapchat application by pressing the X on the top left corner.
  9. Next, you may upload your video at the bottom of this page.

IF YOU ARE USING INSTAGRAM:

  5. To record a video, press and hold down on the large circle found in the middle of other icons, on the bottom of your screen. You will know it’s recording, once the circle gets bigger and the border starts turning red-purple, moving in a clockwise direction.
  6. Each “cycle” that is being recorded lasts about 15 seconds. Press and keep holding for 4 complete cycles (or 60 seconds). Do not go past 60 seconds.
  7. You may add a filter if you wish if it does not contain any wording. To add a filter to your video, simply swipe left on the main screen until you find one to your liking.
